So before start doing these, the students are supposed to know the basic vocabulary and the use of verbs when giving advice or when talking about habits. So the aim is to study in depth the main English competences in a different way.

1ST CLASS

Listening

  1. Watch the video “An Apple a Day is not enought” and discuss the following questions in pairs.
-  Are the wealthiest children the healthiest kids in the world? Why?
-  Do you think that healthy children are better at school? Why?
-  Having a health education is so important as learning maths or reading. Do you agree with that?
-   “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Comment this statement.

  1. Go to this link and follow the steps in the web. Then make a note of how many times you have listened to the record and how many mistakes you have done.

Reading

  1. Go to this website and do the reading about Eating Disorders.

 2ND CLASS

 Speaking

  1. Go to Voicethread and talk about health and sports as your teacher did. Try to answer these questions:
- Do you practise any sport?
- If you don’t practise any sport, tell us what sport would you  like to do.
- What habits do you think a healthy life has?
- What of these habits do you usually do or don’t do?

Transcription of the teacher’s speech: “Hi! I don’t practise sport very often. I go skiing in winter and in summer I love go walking to the mountain. But I used to do gymnastics and go swimming when I was a teenager. If I have to choose a sport, I would like to do judo.
In my opinion the most important habit to live a healthy life is practising sports. Obviously, smoking, drinking alcohol or eat an excess of fat are the worst habits and they are not included in a healthy way of life. ”

Writing

  1. Write a composition of 200 words about health or sports. (A Wiki would be perfect to do this activity)
